Free hothouse Reading!

From Katherine Kilburn, Associate Director of Artistic Development:

As part of our celebrations around OF MICE AND MEN and the American Dream, our May Hothouse reading will be May 13th and 14th at 8PM in the Carrie Hamilton.

Come hear a wonderful and timely new play by local Latina writer, Evangeline Ordaz. VISITORS' GUIDE TO ARIVACA was commissioned by Borderlands Theatre in Arizona to contemplate what it means to be an American and how the border and immigration play a part in that dream. VISITORS' GUIDE TO ARIVACA is beautifully balanced in representing all sides of the debate.

VISITORS' GUIDE TO ARIVACA will be directed by Armando Molina, Artistic Director of Company of Angels Theatre here in LA. More information on casting will come but please plan ahead and make reservations with the box office to join us in this compelling part of our week-long celebration.

See you there!

Hindsight at Hot House

Book Now! Next FREE Hothouse Reading Just Announced!

Book your tickets now for the upcoming reading from Pasadena Playhouse's sell-out new play development series...

Hindsight
By Ross Brown
Directed by Kappy Kilburn

July 17 and 18 at 8:00 P.M.
Carrie Hamilton Theatre.

It’s 1970 and teenage Rob Gold and his brothers are surrounded by the sounds of combat: Vietnam, anti-war protests, and most of all, the marital combat between their parents. Then comes the accident – and a family dynamic that goes from armed insurrection to Armageddon. HINDSIGHT is the story of brothers and how they endure and escape the mess they call family – each in his own way. It’s about dysfunctional parents, sibling bonds, grief, and survival. It will even make you laugh. What else can you do when your mother steals your Bar Mitzvah money and gives it to Yul Brynner so he can gamble in Vegas?

KITE set to return to the Playhouse

KITE (Kids Interactive Theatre Ensemble) brings unique storytelling with special attention paid to wholesome and entertaining youth-friendly material.

The players, ages 9 - 14, present plays they themselves have created in workshop. It's "Theatre For Kids By Kids".

KITE uses little or no props or sets and asks the audience to use their imagination - performers become the scenery, props, sound effects and music!

With a particular focus on values and education-based productions, KITE promises touching, funny and wholesome performances for kids and adults alike.

Pasadena Playhouse has presented several KITE performances in the Carrie Hamilton Theatre and will be returning for events on Sunday, March 18 and Sunday March 25. Both dates will feature performances beginning at 11am & 2pm.

Contact (626) 356-PLAY or email BoxOffice@PasadenaPlayhouse.org for specific information on the productions and recommended ages.
