I've seen pretty much every Playhouse musical in the last decade, and this is one of the best. Top notch work - the house was packed!

Pasadena Playhouse continues its trend of excellent, Broadway-quality musicals with this updated gem. The voices are top-notch as they sing beloved standards such as "C'est Magnifique," and "I Love Paris." The Montmartre nightclub setting allows for some risque comedy that may not be suitable for those under 12. But for the rest of us, it's Paris in Pasadena.

Greetings:

I am hoping that David Lee and James Burrows will get this blog message.

A lot of us here in New York are very pleased to read the wonderful reviews about your production of "Can-Can."

We would like very much, if not DEMAND that you bring this production to New York as part of a tour company.

Cole Porter was a wonderful song writer and his class and style is so needed in New York right now.

It would also be nice, Mr. Burrows, to continue your father's legacy here with this production.

Hope you'll come around Thanksgiving. Who knows, maybe you could do a big can-can number for the Macy's Parade on NBC!

See you here soon!

The show was great (as usual, for the playhouse). I've written my usual long review of the show for my journal; you can find the review here.

Special kudos go to one of our favorite actors, Kevin Earley (who should be in more Playhouse productions), Michaelle Duffy, Amir Talai, and Yvette Tucker... who were all quite remarkable.

Oh, and the flatulist wasn't just blowing hot air :-)
